We’ve produced a new transducer mount for Hobie Lynx and Passport model Kayaks that suits the Lowrance Eagle Triple Shot Transducer.
Installation is fairly straightforward and can be done with a Phillips head screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
Step 1: Orient the transducer on the plate as shown. Although it might appear backward, It’s important that it is aligned with the transducer cable away from the drain hole.
Step 2: Place the clamping plate over the transducer, aligning the 4 holes in the plate with the 4 holes in the transducer cover. Use the 4 x m3x16 Phillips pan head screws, washers and nyloc nuts to secure and only do them up enough so that the transducer doesn’t move.
Step 3: Remove the Lowrance Ready Plate and feed the transducer cable through the transducer molding in the base of the kayak, it’s best to tip over the kayak to do these next steps.
Step 4: route the transducer cable through the backing plate.
Step 5: Locate the transducer adaptor in position on the underside of the kayak with the transducer spacer provided. Install the rear self-tapping screw securing the spacer first before positioning the transducer and guard. Make sure all holes are aligned carefully.
Step 6: Complete the install of the transducer guard by installing the final supplied screws and front self-tapping screw.
Finished job, note the drain hole is facing the rear of the kayak, you are now ready to flip the kayak back over and continue with head unit installation.
