This is a guide on how to install the Connector Protectors onto your electronics cables. The connector protector is made to be stretched over the top of your connectors and cable tied on the base to form a seal on the cable. These fit Lowrance, Garmin, Humminbird, Simrad, Furuno, and more electronics and prevent costly corrosion issues.
The Connector Protector can be installed on your connections by firstly removing the connections from the unit. We recommend doing one at a time so these are installed back in the same position.
The Connector Protectors are designed to go over a range of plugs. for this cable we can see it needs to be trimmed back to alow it to slip through.
Push the connector protector inside out and then trim on the shoulder behind the recess where the cable tie is to sit.
Spray some silicon down the inside of the of the connector protector and push it through.
Apply a cable tie to the to the cable tie groove and trim the end flush.
Invert the plug the correct way and reconnect the connector the the back of the unit. The connector protector can then be pushed up against the back of the unit to start protecting the connections. We also recommend applying dielectric grease to the connections before installing them.
