We’ve produced a new transducer mount for Hobie Kayaks that suits the Lowrance Eagle Triple Shot Transducer. This mount suits Hobies that have the 3-bolt Lowrance Ready Plate.
Installation is fairly straightforward and can be done with a Phillips head screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
Step 1: Orient the transducer on the plate as shown. Although it might appear backward, It’s important that it is aligned with the transducer cable away from the drain hole.
Step 2: Place the clamping plate over the transducer, aligning the 4 holes in the plate with the 4 holes in the transducer cover. Use the 4 x m3x16 Phillips pan head screws, washers and nyloc nuts to secure and only do them up enough so that the transducer doesn’t move.
Step 3: Remove the Lowrance Ready Plate and feed the transducer cable through the transducer molding in the base of the kayak, it’s best to tip over the kayak to do these next steps.
Step 4: Locate the transducer adaptor in position on the underside of the kayak with the transducer spacer provided. Use either the 8/32 screws or 10/32 screws provided depending on individual fit.
Step 5: flip your kayak back upright and continue your installation as desired by routing your transducer cable to your chosen head unit / graph location
