What Materials are Used in BumperBro?

The kayak keel guard is made from thermoformed ABS plastic. We recommend installing it with marine goop or another adhesive that will not degrade the kayak material over time. These can also be attached with 3m VHT tape but we recommend putting an adhesive around the edges to ensure the part can’t have sand or debris find its way down. The part is formed with large sides to give the part a good area for bonding and holding onto your kayak.

The durable material used in this keel protector is designed to withstand the rigors of frequent use, providing a reliable barrier against scrapes and scratches. Its custom fit ensures that it adheres seamlessly to the shape of your kayak, enhancing both its performance and longevity.

You should get this for your kayak

Face it, every time you paddle or pedal into a ramp, the "nose" of your kayak gets scraped. This Bumper Pro will protect it and extend the useful life of your kayak. Easy to install.

Bumper Bro Kayak STERN Guard for Hobie Lynx

The item is very well constructed but there is a problem with the Stern Guard: the finish line of the kayak that is in between the upper and lower part of the kayak is not seamless, and therefore it leaves an extension around the kayak which does not allow the Guard to lay smoothly on the stern. The Keel Guard on the other hand, lays perfectly on the kayak because there is not that issue.

Bumper Pro

I ordered the bumper pro for my new Hobie Pro Angler. Shipping was super fast and installation was as easy as they show in their videos. The only thing I would suggest is that they actually provide the adhesive needed to install the bumper pro on your boat. This had to be purchased separately and “marine adhesive” is not readily available everywhere.
