Upgrade your Old Town kayak with our CNC machined aluminum Titan tracks that will greatly improve the stability of camera mounts but also give you peace of mind when trolling with rod holders or mounting other valuable accessories.
Step 1:
Remove the existing plastic Old Town tracks using a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the existing tracks. Keep these screws for later use during the new track installation.
Step 2:
Clean the mounting location after removing the old tracks, clean the mounting area to ensure a smooth surface for the new CNC machined aluminum tracks. Wipe away any dirt or debris to create an optimal foundation.
Step 3:
Align your new Titan Tracks with the original mounting holes in your Old Town kayak.
Step 4:
Secure Tracks using the original screws. Add the screws evenly, hand-tightening to ensure a secure and stable attachment. Avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the tracks or the kayak hull.
Note, these tracks and heavily anodized so the risk of galvanic corrosion is low. However its not a bad idea to apply a thin smear of marine isolating compound (e.g. Tef-Gel or Duralac) to the screw threads before fitting. A little under the screw head helps if it sits on aluminium.
