With its adjustable bunks and height, our cart is compatible with a wide range of kayaks and canoes and can accommodate different diameter wheels. The height adjustment feature also allows our cart to suit different hulls, minimizing the height you have to lift your heavy kayak or canoe, making it easier to load and transport. Our retractable kickstand allows you to easily lift your kayak or canoe onto the cart and then quickly retract the kickstand without having to get under your kayak or canoe, ensuring that your kayak or canoe stays protected from damage

Does the Kimmi Cart come with wheels?

No. The Kimmi Cart is only currently available as a complete frame without wheels. They are available with different axles, which are compatible with several wheels commonly used on kayak wheel carts. These include Wheeleez 24 & 30cm wheels (as used with Hobie Trax carts) and Railblaza C-Tug wheels also.

Why are bunks better than scupper posts for supporting a kayak?

Kayak wheel carts with loading bunks (or 'rails', or 'skids') are safer to use with a kayak hull (no chance of damaging tubes) and it is easier to load a heavy kayak onto a free-standing cart with bunks than it is to insert cart frame posts into scupper tubes.

Kayak carts with bunks can also make significantly lighter work of hauling your kayak around. Unlike carts with scupper posts that force specific mounting positions, carts with bunk supports can be positioned anywhere along the length of the hull. This means you can load the kayak onto the bunks at the hull's center of gravity, which minimizes how much physical effort is required to pick up the bow handle and haul.

Does it work well for larger & heavier kayaks?

The Kimmi Kayak Cart works exceptionally well for larger and heavier kayaks. That was our primary directive when we designed it. Trust us bro, your kayak will present no challenge for the Kimmi cart!

Does it work well for all kayaks?

It works well under almost any kayak or canoe, and is particularly well suited to most fishing kayaks. Some adjustment with the skids positions may be required for optimal use.

Recommended usage tips?

If your kayak has channels on either side of the keel line (most do) it is best to setup the bunks to match as closely as possible to each channel, as this will provide the best stability. On rounder chine hulls without channels adjust the bunks to match the bottom edge of the chine.

When using we also recommend positioning the cart bunks as close to the center of gravity as possible. The closer the bunks are to the balance point, the less weight you'll need to pick up at the bow, which translates to less physical effort hauling it along.
