The Side Bro can be mounted directly to your kayak, boat, fishing setup, cooler or chair, which keeps tackle and tools you use most often exactly where you need them.
One of the best features of the Side Bro is the ability to customize setup, along with the variety of mounting options to suit your individual needs. In this tutorial we will demonstrate how to go about installing a Side Bro with double sided tape.
Planning The Fit-Out
Mounting should begin with some careful planning and consideration. Although you can't really do anything with double-sided tape that can't be undone, its always good to get it right first time around. These instructions are specifically for users who want to use double-sided tape as an adhesive.
Step 1:
Before starting, you should map out where you want your Side Bro to mount, ensuring it will fit without obstruction.
Step 2:
The cleanliness of the mating surface and the Backing Bro is essential to get good adhesion. We recommend the use of isopropyl alcohol or white vinegar and a clean rag to thoroughly prepare the surface.
Step 3:
Use a straight edge, ruler, or level, along with a Sharpie pen, to mark where your Side Bro will mount.
Step 4:
Attach the Backing Bro to the Rear of the Side Bro, utilising the supplied stainless steel hardware. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 5:
Cut to length 2 or 3 250mm lengths of 3M VHB double-sided tape. Peel off one side of the tape backing, and carefully place these 15 – 25mm from the edge of the top and bottom of the Backing Bro. A third strip can also be used if desired. Next, peel the other side off the double-sided tape.
Step 6:
Align and carefully press the Side Bro into position, guided by the marking you made at Step 3. Be extremely careful with alignment, as the 3M VHB tape creates a strong bond and will be difficult to remove if you misalign this step.
