The BerleyPro’s are clearly better in every aspect.
The installation was quite easy. But the keel guard is just missing about 10cm. If the keel guard would be a bit longer the complete keel would be protected back to the transducer opening.
Excellent item! It took a bit of creative clamping and strapping to get it to form perfectly to my keel while the adhesive cured, but I expected that. It's perfect!

I usually prefer DIY but the time and tools it would take to create the perfect fit (and have it look professional) made the Bumper Bro a no brainer. I had some GOOP marine around (what kayaker doesn’t?) and was able to affix the guard right on. On bead down the middle and one about 1/4 inch below the rim and you are set. I highly recommend first coming up with a way to hold it in place while it dries before applying any adhesive. Finally, no more cringing when pivoting on the nose of my keel or a friend runs it aground accidentally.

I should have bought this keel guard a long time ago. It's strong, rugged, and it's holding up really well. This thing has saved me from all the cringing I used to do from moving my kayak around. It's especially useful at boat launches were concrete and asphalt is unavoidable.
Installation was done solo. Due to the angle of the bow, it’s hard to keep the guard in place. I used same method as the video, and so far the guard is working and in place. Definitely use plenty of marine goop.
The Bumper Bro works perfectly. I used the recommended adhesive (Goop Marine Adhesive) and the Bumper Bro is still perfectly stuck to my keel. My only regret is that I wish I would have used it first. I used a clear strip type keel guard that I had to cut properly to make the curve of the keel and it started peeling in a month. The Bumper Bro was simple to apply and has worked perfectly for more than six months now. My Hobie is in the water one to two times a week. P. S. The transducer cover works great too!!

I purchased the Bumper Bro Keel guard for my [****]. The first thing I noticed was how solid & well designed it is! It was a perfect fit all the way around & offers protection right where you need it! I used 3M Marine adhesive sealant (fast cure) 5200 to attach it. It was dry in an hour & it’s on there rock solid! Overall, this is yet another great product from BerleyPro & it should be on every kayak! Good on ya’ Marty!
Great product for keeping the bottom of your expensive kayak like new. Ive got the front rear for my 2018 outback and jts saved my haul many times.

Vinyl tape such as Gorilla Tape or KeelEazy tape is the less expensive option and it does help, however it won't last as long and only offers minimal impact absorbtion.

How do you install a Bumper Bro on a kayak?
The Bumper Bro uses a plastic-safe marine adhesive for tool-free installation. No drilling is required. Instructions are included with the product.
