Installing the Garmin Rooster Rooter is easy and can be done in minutes. It's a pretty simple process but you may wish to follow this guide to make sure you get it right the first time
First remove the transducer from the bracket using a Phillips Head Screw Driver by removing the 5 screws. Be sure to keep the star washers as these will be reused but the m4 screws will be replaced with slightly longer screws provided. Ensure the screw tabs are sitting parallel and under the screws before the next step. This can be done with a small flat head screwdriver.
Place the stainless steel components over the transducer as shown in the image above. It’s easier to start with the rooster rooter adjusted all the way forward to help line up the screws. Note, the transducer cable passes through the central rectangular cut out as shown below.
Place the washers onto the screws and loosely install them finger tight for the moment. Adjust the rooster rooter to remove the gap between the plastic mount and the hull as shown.
With the transducer and Rooster Rooter in place, slide the Rooster Rooter as required so the spray deflector is flush with your hull. When you're satisfied with the position, now tighten all 6 screws securely, without over-tightening them.
Once you've done that your setup should now look much like the image shown below. Now you're ready to hit the water to test it out!
